Personal strengths: Determination/persistence, passion, idealism with a dose of being realistic

Some of my values: Justice/fairness irrespective of class, creed, religion, clan. Being self-made (being where you are as a result of your own efforts and not because you were born into privilege). Striving against stereotypes. Making efforts for continual betterment. Being aware of the materialistic world we live in, status quo and peer pressure. Critical thinking - questioning everything you hear, especially from the media. Believing in oneself. Trying to do good, live for others and not just for yourself. Be as eco-friendly as possible. Be in touch with nature for your own spiritual growth, self-reflect, try and connect with higher powers (God) - just started taking yoga classes, loving it.

Challenges I continue to overcome: Laziness and a short attention span. Disillusionment. Frustrating work circumstances, trying to do something meaningful that lasts beyond my life. Need to start praying Fajr regularly.


NOTE: While I identify as Shia, I would be open to getting to know others, especially those listed as "Just Muslim". These days other people often have a problem considering a Shia person for marriage, which is why (in the interest of honesty and saving time) I've put this up. I'm probably leaning towards "Just Muslim" anyway.

P.S. I'm a Syed - turns out some people think it's a sin to marry Syeds if they're non-Syeds :S people can be so weird!

What I Am Looking For
I hope my future husband is caring, friendly, honest and faithful. Inshallah if I get my ideal match then each day would be an adventure.

I am probably not going to be a typical desi wife – however, my marriage is important to me and I can balance between work and responsibilities at home, and would expect the same of my husband. Moreover though I have a moderate disposition, I am clear on moral, ethical and religious boundaries. I hope my life partner is also not okay with drinking, time pass affairs etc. His past doesn't matter very much if he is clear about the future.

Divorced men are welcome to get in touch, as long as they do not have children - it's not easy to do justice to someone else's child and it's better not do it at all than feel guilty about being a bad mother.
