Let's see.

I'm a Mexican-American convert to Islam. If you live in the South, Southwest of California, you might have enjoyed my people's hard working ethic, food and language (I don't know about the rest of the country, I've been all over the place and it seems that we are concentrated closer to the motherland.).

Why did I convert? Well, my belief system seemed more in line with Islam. What does that mean to me? One God, be good, be just, give alms, mind your own business and protect those who need protection the most.

Before you keep reading this, bear in mind that I love to travel. So if you're ready to live out of a suitcase from time to time continue reading....if you don't like that idea, well I guess you can continue reading too (It's a somewhat free country.).

I speak Spanish and English fluently. Even though I was born in the US, I traveled to Mexico throughout my childhood and even spent a couple of years there while in middle school. So, my culture is very important to me, I've never had any problems with my culture and my religion coexisting with each other.

I love to read, I love photography, I love the arts. I love trying out new places: I love change. I am not afraid of being thrown out into the unknown.

My headline is from "The Conference of the Birds." a poem by a mystic called Farad ud-Din Attar..... I'm not going to go ahead and say that I myself am a mystic. But it is a beautiful part of Islam.
