A Little Bit About Me
I'm a fun and free-spirit! I love to ponder philosophy and enjoy attempting to understand the profound mysteries of the universe. Contemplating God and His endless mercy, grace, beneficence and majesty is my favorite thing to do. I believe we are all united at the core by our humanity. By virtue of being creatures, I find it appropriate to reflect upon the Creator and thank him for his creations.
I'm very spiritual, love Islam and am also very positive. I've been told my greatest strength is seeing the good in everything, and that my greatest weakness is also seeing the good in everything. Argh, just when you thought I was perfect :-D
I'm super big on family. I'm really, really traditional in that sense. Islam has prescribed the most perfect set of guidelines for etiquette with family, and I strive my best to follow that etiquette with all my love, care, dedication and patience.
I love fashion. I'm really modern in that sense. I'm not big on following the latest trends or expensive name brands, but I'm really big on looking my best and working my own style. I see it as a creative expression and love that part about it. It's not what you wear; it's how you work it!
So far, I realize I sound super uber soft and girly (Islam? check. Family? check. Fashion? check. ). To add to that, I have a baby face and a soft voice. I'm also very soft-hearted. I've been likened to Mother Theresa, a fairy, an angel, etc This presents all kinds of advantages and disadvantages. I get to see people at their very best and at their very worst. If you've had similar experiences, then you would understand.
But, I have my inner tomboy. Growing up, I was the little sister that tagged along her big brother everywhere. So, it's probably best if I disclose this skeleton in my closet now: I might be considered a sweet and pretty girly girl, but I'm not afraid to be tough, ambitious, competitive, roll my sleeves up when it's needed for important life challenges and video/board games:-)
I have my bachelors degree in health sciences. Since finishing undergrad, I've had some awesome professional experiences with dental assisting and teaching. I'm now a geeky engineering student and teach part-time.
I work hard, and I play hard (I keep it halal though -- that can be hard to do sometimes in our modern culture, but I take my covenant to God seriously). I love to laugh. I love to try new things. I love an adventure. I love a challenge. I love having a good time. I don't enjoy drama, pretentiousness, gossip or any other boring or mean things.
I have lots of friends, but only a handful that I let into my circle of trust and keep close. I like to keep it simple, have a rockin' good time with all that Allah sends my way, tie my camels down, rejoice and thank Allah (swt) for everything :-)
