A Little Bit About Me

I'm an ordinary slave of Allah.

I seek to make the most of this life for a better hereafter with my spouse and strongly believe in the motto that if I want a Khadijahؓ I've got to be like a Muhammad ﷺ.

I actively participate in da'wah in various forms. I'm actively involved in seeking Islamic Knowledge by pursuing a BA in Islamic Studies from KIU (kiu.org/website) as a scholarship student. I do attend Islamic gatherings and am well known amongst Islamic Circles in my City. I find it too obvious to state the fact that I pray 5-7 times a day. I do know a little bit of Arabic (which I'm still learning). Though I don't label myself, I take Islam from Qur'an and Sunnah and understand it as the salaf understood it (and I do refer to scholars) - some label it "salafi"!

I was born and brought up in India and come from a highly educated family. At home, it's my mother and I. My father passed away during my childhood and my mother has struggled all her life for me, a fact that I really value. My mother has two brothers and a sister who (along with their families) are a part of my family and their opinions do matter a lot.

A Petrochemical Engineer by education and an MBA (Energy) graduate, I am presently working as a Consultant for the world's largest accounting/consulting firm. I've always been a good student at school and actively involved in sports and various extra curricular activities at the International Stage. My education has been from some of the top institutes of the world.

Coming to some basic things, my diet is mainly non-vegetarian and I don't like fish :-). I consider English to be my first language and I can speak in Urdu, Arabic and few other languages too. I do sport a beard and wear "normal" clothing :P I generally get along with everyone but I'm not very keen on socializing, even though I have a massive social circle. (Yes! You may find that strange). I do have a set of good friends though and we're mainly bonded by the Islamic spirits of da'wah and the zeal to seek knowledge

I have a keen passion for technology and computers. They're my second passion (First being Islam and I often try to bridge the two). Most of my free time is spent trying to make use of technology to benefit Islam, in various ways (ask me more!).

Countries I grew up in: India, UK and traveled many more.

It kinda feels awkward to say so much about yourself, but I guess this was needed. So I'll let the Messenger of Allah ﷺ close this section in his own words:

'When someone with whose religion and character you are satisfied asks your daughter in marriage, accede to his request. If you do not do so, there will be temptation (fitnah) on the Earth and extensive corruption.'

What I Am Looking For
My aim is to find a life partner who'd be my soul-mate to enter Jannah with me, in shaa' Allah.

An important criteria is that she should be able to partner me in my da'wah activities (for which I've a lot of plans and aspirations) and be focused. I give extreme importance to aqeedah, manhaj and taqwa. I also give a lot of importance to chastity (you see my gheerah quotient is high :P but I know where to draw the line).

She should also be educated enough to strike a mental compatibility (basically have a similar outlook towards life) and being knowledgeable in Islam is a much valued (added) asset, though not a prerequisite.

The criteria mentioned on my profile are a guideline. I am willing to go above and beyond them if the person is serious about their religion, piety and chastity. Basically, I'm looking for someone who shares the same passion for Islam as I do (or even more), so that we could do great things together!

People constrained by locations, professions or not willing to live in a family and build relationships that last a lifetime or are short-sighted enough to only settle for those who are well-off (appearance or financially), are a serious No-No! I'm still surprised by the many profiles I see where potential brides are looking for "a religious groom who does not have a beard" or those who want someone religious, caring etc. but reject people for other reasons.

Think about what marriage meant to the Messenger of Allah ? and his companions? ? For example: Khadijah? married Rasoolullah ? just by looking at his character and Rasoolullah ? in return kept his ties with her friends and family even after she passed away. He would send gifts to them in her remembrance. Such was their marriage!

I do believe that for a successful marriage both the partners should have a common goal and I have that to please Allah alone and wish my partner to have the same. I seek my partner to be that anchor in my life that would keep me steadfast and at times even pull me into jannah (if need be) in shaa' Allah (and vice versa). After all Prophet Muhammad ? said: "The whole world is a place of useful things and the best thing of this world is a virtuous woman (wife)." [Muslim]

The woman I look up to are:
Khadija bint Khuwaylid? - for who she was to Rasoolullah ?
Maryam, the Mother of Isaa ??? - for her chastity
Aasiya ?, the Wife of Phiroun - for her devotion
Aysha? bint Abu Bakr? - for her knowledge and
Fatimah bint Muhammad ? - for per piety.

I'd end this section with a beautiful du'aa from the Qur'an (25:74):

"Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqûn"
