A Little Bit About Me
I'm a fully fledged British native, whose roots were forged in Pakistan . Went through all the young teething problems here, whizzed through uni and still haven't learnt anything of any use. Yet. Picked up four languages on the way - English, Urdu, Arabic and Jibberish - well that's what you'd call it if you hear my punjabi. Have travelled extensively and lived in the USA, Saudi and ...Barcelona... Ola! But Lahore is still dearest to me.
What do I like?... badminton, chess, horses, Bayswater (in that order). Love to jog, walk and the outdoors. Give me a dirt track, winding stream, or the sight of green hills, and you'll need a mountain rescue team to haul me back! Most memorable walk was along the Amalfi coast. The worst was up the last flight of stairs of the Empire State - did I mention I HATE heights! Love Arabic food and music, selective cinema and theatre, as well as Islamic talks.
What do I dislike? Missing namaaz, injustice and those with a temper. Oh, and bitter fruits, warm tea, burnt custard and bollywood (not the songs, just the films)! Worst of all, I dislike misers! ...oh, and did I mention heights? Also get irritated with those who blindly confuse culture with deen.
Ambition? To continue this amazing journey, with someone special. Insha'Allah. To share their smiles and to catch their every tear drop, before it hits the ground. Oh and of course, to learn how not to burn custard and to brush up on my punjabi at every opportunity! (Or even my Arabic... you never know.)
