A Little Bit About Me
My name is Shahid Khan and I went to Polytechnic University. I am dependent and independent at times. I went to a technical school and got a computer science degree like many others and have a software developing job as well but I would not describe myself as "geeky. " Not that it's a bad characteristic or anything but it's important to know a person's characteristic. I do not classify myself as fob nor abcd as it's a popular question one wants answered, I have characteristics of both and am in the middle. The most important part I want to tell about myself is that I am definitely not your typical desi/Pakistani guy. By that I mean I have everything in me including culture, family values, religion and all the other good stuff. And no I do not drink or smoke but I am a dj. This isn't to say I dj nightclubs or other such venues. I grew up with music being a major part of myself since 3rd grade. I played Tuba and was in the marching band which played nationally; I made all-state and all-eastern if you know what that means and if you do, you would know how serious I was about music. Coming to college, as it was a technical school, music wasn?t a big part of it so I ventured to continue something in the music field as it?s my passion. I am in collaboration with another major company and am partners in a high end wedding entertainment and lighting company. I strictly do weddings as entertaining and making people have fun has always been a passion and for the past 3 years, I've taken it to another level and showed all of the desis that come across me that its not your typical dj company who do it for fun. If you do decide to contact me, I will show you the work and it will speak for itself. I still work the 9-5 on the weekdays, have a boss to report to, fill out my timesheets and take my vacation days like everyone else. I meet my clients in the evening from time to time (most of my clients communicate via email and on the phone anyway) so weekday nights can be busy or dead. My goal in life is to really transition into lighting and production as there's a huge demand for that out in the market. I've studied the market very well and know what I am doing and that's why I continue to do so. As I said, I have all the traditions and values (thanks to my siblings and parents) plus I like to do more with my life and that's why I do the extra things. I have 2 parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters along with 2 nieces and 1 nephew. My plans are eventually to get an MBA in Risk Management as at work I make decisions which involve the risk of our company as well as for my own lighting/entertainment company; I make decisions in new services and client relationship which involve many risks. Lastly, I am financial stable as I pay my own bills and I do help out my family a lot as they help me out a lot. If there are any more questions feel free to ask. If "dj" stops you from contacting me, please let it as I am looking for an open-minded person. And by that I mean I don't mind that you may be a doctor, engineer, lawyer or something similar but I also do not mind if you are not one of those as long as you know what you are doing with it. In other words to desis, an art major or something similar is not "suitable" for marriage and I think that's totally bogus without knowing what they intend to do with it. To further clarify my own business of entertainment/lighting, I am registered in New York as a legitimate business owner and pay my taxes, payroll, worker's compensation, unemployment insurance.. etc.. all the good stuff that comes with being a business owner. I always wanted to own my own business and I have and I continue to strive to make it better and better. I also have a cat and raised with a cat so I'm not afraid of cats and not afraid of dogs either, they're just annoying but i can live w/o a cat. Hopefully this isn't too much information from the start but I want to have many things cleared before the first conversation as it omits any misunderstandings from the start.
