A Little Bit About Me
Assolaam alaykum

I describe myself as a practising Muslim, meaning that beyond our basic responsibilities as Muslims, I'm trying to work on understanding Islam better. I try to attend lectures and Al Maghrib courses and would like to continue to do this with my husband.

I enjoy the usual social activities: going to the cinema, theatre (but no musicals because I don't listen to music), eating out. I like watching horror films - although I prefer the cheesy over the scary, and enjoy a good zombie film! I love travelling and hope to do more in'sha'Allah.

I try to follow the Quran and sunnah, and I would not be compatible with someone who celebrates milaad, carries out khatams etc.

What I Am Looking For
I'm looking for someone who is practising, by which I mean you are fulfilling the basics at least (praying, paying zakat, fasting). You should be able to demonstrate emotional maturity and understands the realities and practicalities of marriage. And you should definitely have a sense of humour because it’s important!

I would prefer someone similar in age to me but not younger than 40, fluent in English and British born. I would consider someone who is divorced but since I haven’t been married before, I’m looking for someone without children.

You don't have to be Mr Darcy but it helps if you can convince me that chivalry is not dead. Of course, if you are Mr Darcy then please do get in touch! :P
