i believe in simplicity, in our interconnectedness, interdependency, our responsibility to each other and to the planet. i believe in change, in constant personal growth. i believe in iridescent colors, that we possess them. i believe that silence/apathy about the world/our surroundings is deadly. i believe in old trees, mountains, and the oceans. but most of all, i believe in the wind.

music: everything: nas, mos def, res, lupe fiasco, nina simone, etta james, karsh kale, vilayat khan, herbie hancock, donald byrd, lonnie liston smith, tracey thorn, destroyer, m83, my morning jacket, slowdive, lhase de sela, fela kuti, rush, old school metallica, marvin gaye, curtis mayfield, natalie merchant, orchestra baobob, jimi hendrix, bill fay, rakim, tribe called quest, etc.
movies/tv: almost anything by wong kar wai, mira nair, satyajit ray, spike lee; old black and white flicks: silent (charlie chaplin!), the original sherlock holmes series with basil rathbone (what a name!), twilight zone episodes, killer of sheep. the first big momma's house (classic!).
i also dig hiking and walking.
