A Little Bit About Me
Asalamu Alykum!

Words to me are so amazing and powerful, they are the very essence of who we are – here’s to hoping I can convey a bit of my essence in this little space.

A bit about me:

I can laugh at almost anything and see life as sunny and beautiful, even in the rain. The glass is definitely half full. I think life without laughter is not worth living and I frequently crack myself up. This is not to say that I'm always, annoyingly Ms. Sunshine. Other people's moods can rub of on me instantly but I can shake them off just as quickly. Injustice makes me angry, as does purposeful ignorance and people that don't try to make this world a better place even though they have the wherewithal to do so (I guess the last one is very righteously indignant of me..).

I’m trying to practice my Islam to the best of my ability and want to grow in this practice with my partner.


The Random Details –

The advent of the Kindle has me missing the smell of the pages of books but I love the portability and the fact that my book shelves no longer look like they are going to cave at any moment.

Can't live without morning coffee and fresh air.

Like to work out but a knee surgery sidelined me for a while. I'm getting back into it slowly. I've "discovered" yoga recently and it's been great, for my mind, body and soul. I'm looking to pursue a sustained practice but life often gets in the way.

I love languages and will listen to music in almost any language, even ones that I don't understand a word of. Actually, I will listen to any kind of music as long as it stirs me in some way and my tastes in music (as well as food etc) vary with my mood. It's hard for me to pick favorites because of this.

A big sky with a million twinkling stars and a sweet breeze does it for me. I live for unexpectedly deep conversations, people watching and sustained friendships.
