A Little Bit About Me
Salaam, Hi, Hello, Konnichiwa, Aloha prospective husband! 👋🏽
So, my mum tells me I'm getting old and need to find a man so I can give her grandchildren. Unfortunately, my suggestion that I do not require a man to do that didn't go down too well with her, so here I am!
Some good bits:
• Confident, working professional.
• Slightly vivacious
• Independent, but not afraid or embarrassed to admit a little dependency on my nearest and dearest when required.
• Take a keen interest in world affairs. I'd much rather watch Question Time or any other debate show than soap operas.
• David Attenborough and Masterchef > everything else.
• An avid fan of the arts and thus a regular at the theatres (mainstream and independent), ballet, cultural arts etc. Or perhaps just a solo trip to an exhibition for some much needed ‘me time’. (Though COVID rained in on my parade there a little 😒)
• Somewhat well travelled. 32 countries & counting thus far. And I don't mean the 'shopping in a Dubai mall or sitting on a resort beach sipping on sangria's' type of travelling (though the latter isn't so bad every now and then); I mean travelling in it's true essence; immersing oneself into the culture, history and vibrancy that a country has to offer. If you find yourself questioning what that could be, then you perhaps fit into the former category...
• Multilingual. Speak 5 languages.
• An idealistic realist…or a realistic idealist?
• An ambivert.
• Very family orientated. (P.s. those of you who use ‘oriented’ instead - LOL!)
• Apparently, I can be quite witty... Or so I'm told 🤐🤷🏽♀️
• Ambitious
• Adventurous
• Charitable
• Well mannered. Without blowing my own trumpet… I’d say I was courtesy personified. (ok perhaps I am blowing it a little 😝🙈)
• Both a social butterfly and a bookworm that enjoys my own company.
Some not so good bits:
• Very. Brutally. Honest.
• Not a follower. As a bit of a non conformist, I tend to live my life by my own rules. Certainly do not believe in conforming to what society deems to be the norm, just for the sake of it. Some people like it. Some people don’t. 🤷🏽♀️
• Can be slightly impetuous and stubborn at times
• Lack of manners, courtesy to others and just poor basic etiquette in general really irk me. It really doesn't cost to be polite and courteous? 🤷🏽♀️
• Sorry, but another grammar nazi here! In fact poor English as a whole is quite off putting. There is just absolutely no reason whatsoever, in a country where education is compulsory till the age of 16, for anyone not to be able to differentiate between ‘their they’re and there’ (unless you have a learning disorder or some other valid reason).
(Note to self: Must spell check my profile before I submit)
Also, If you've not yet mastered the beauty of using paragraphs, I will most likely switch off before I've even had the chance to scroll down to your height. It makes my eyes hurt. Formatting people!!! It’s important.
• I have a slight OCD (Its not that bad, honestly)
• Lies and liars… Please do not insult my intelligence and present me with any of your verbal diarrhoea. I assure you, you will be caught out. So if you’re one of those many that come onto these apps looking for damsels in distress esque preys; please do a 180° turn and shut the proverbial door on your way out.
I am a slightly complex and multifaceted individual, who sees life through a glass half full perspective, as opposed to half empty. That said, with an eclectic array of interests and hobbies.
In terms of values; I'm something of a modern traditionalist (is that even a "thing"?) in that I am outgoing, presentable, and have progressive views, but still believe in the values of Islam, integrity, and respect for both myself and others. If there's a decision to be made, it can often be with my heart and faith over just my head..

What I Am Looking For

If anyone has ever called you a ‘typical guy,’ please run the other way. Otherwise - Hello.
I am in search of an incisive, inquisitive, insightful, and intelligent mind. Someone for whom philosophical discussion is foreplay, and intellectual debate is flirtation. Someone who will at times make me go ouch due to their wit and evil sense of humour.
Desirable: someone who will get all the inflections of the word ‘accha’.
Jokes aside; I seek most of all to meet someone who will respect my honesty and opinions, who will see my heart beneath my non-stop sarcasm. Who will be my rock and confidante. Lift me when I need a boost, and keep me grounded when I need a voice of reason. Basically, I want to marry someone who does not exist 😂🤦🏽♀️
Other than that, just to add a few desired pre requisites:
• Tall
• Honest
• God fearing
• Family orientated (There it is again 😂)
• Ambitious
• Must possess confidence and integrity
• Romantic (just a slight bit will do lol)
• Sociable ish… Failing that, just someone able to at least communicate effectively with me shall suffice.
• Witty…
Dry humour: acceptable.
Dad jokes: borderline! 😬
• Interested in travelling; be that trekking through the jungles and ruins in Vietnam, or sitting back and watching the sun set on a beach Bali. Dubai is off limits unless it is a layover en route from an epic adventure.
• Divorcees with or without children and menfolk of different ethnicities welcome.
I should also add, that I find intelligence spine tinglingly attractive. So yes, I would most certainly find that guy with the thick rimmed glasses and trilby hat, working his magic as a linguist at the coffee shop on his Royal typewriter, while sipping his chai latte…most scintillatingly irresistible.
