A Little Bit About Me
Our Past is the Present; Our Present is the Future; Our Future is Now.
(I learned this from my 2nd grade student--he learned it from a movie)
I believe everyone has a lesson to teach us and each of us a lesson/test for another.
I'm a convert to Islam since 2005. I have made a lot of choices in life; becoming Muslim was the best one.
Starting with (habits) of mine, watch movies (but not that much, I much prefer to go out!), love comedy and to laugh.Obsessed with Coffeee! and am really an adventurous & ambitious; outdoors person---def up for anything. I teach and I learn, read and live life. Aziz Ansari is awesome, House of Cards has gotten much better; Games of Thrones is the highlight of my year and John Oliver is the new Jon Stewart for me. I love to cook--but secretly prefer to go out for food.
I dream of a nice Muslim family life where everyone goes to Jumaa on Friday and to find the right person; very deeply, would love to get married one day because I found the 'right' person but not before that. The 'right' person is from Allah and it should be easy to be with them, (but I know marriage is not easy and that is ok and normal) It is Allah who unites spouses---like Hajjah and Ibrahim; Khadijah and Rasoolallah, Adam and Hawa. I am very easy going, patient, respectful, understanding and take these women for examples and these couples as pillars of patience, fortitude and dependence on Allah SWT in life, in partnership and in destiny.
I absolutely love! the world of the mystical and unseen and research and read a lot about it. My goals are to establish a career in teaching and I am currently seeking to become certified/licensed and become self-sufficient. I can't wait to volunteer with Dream of Detroit and the HUDA clinic! Ask me about it! and ask me about my recent move from Florida to Michigan haha Great story!
I Try to do a new volunteer project each year for three years now. I am looking to make up for lost time and hold tight to the rope of Allah and also am aiming to make better decisions because our lives are precious and our faith is priceless. A life that seeks out Allah is the ultimate goal. I would love to have someone help me wake up for fajr! Shoot I would love to have someone wake me up---and did I mention the coffee thing (I love that!)
What I Am Looking For
I am looking for someone who is firstly assuredly going to stay in the States, one because he loves it here and second, he is a citizen; someone who can laugh with me about life because we have grown up in the same way with similar perspectives. I am completely against the plague of racism and bigotry; what a shame Muslims say I only want you to marry someone from our country.....this is ignorance and is against what Allah has decreed--- that He has made us into nations so we may get to know one another. The only reason it is imperative a person is a citizen for me (which means from any background) is because I have been down that route before and have no interest in returning to it.
I treat everyone well and I would love to be treated well and go out just walking around joking and being in the moment. I intend to be a professional teacher where I can balance my life between family/work. I am not demanding at all but trust the person to meet my needs because Allah has asked them to and hope they entrust me with their needs. Needs are not only financial. I want a mutual relationship. It is important to me for a person to love Islam and desire to gain more faith with their partner. I am not hung up on a person's personal practice as much as I am of mine but in marriage I think it is a foundation for spouses to better one another. I think a relationship helps build character and faith. Prayer is something that we are called to and should go to willingly. I would much prefer a person that strives to be a leader and guards himself closely because this is the kind of person I want to be.
