A Little Bit About Me
Bismillah.

I am not very fond of the idea of finding a spouse through online means but giving it a go as I am finding it hard coming across individuals with a similar background and understanding as myself.

I was born in Dhaka and raised in New York. I came back to Dhaka with my mom and two siblings back in 2005 due to encountering harassment from the authorities due to my da'wah work. My mother has traveled back and forth with my siblings but I have not been back to NY since. I would prefer not to go back to the West. At the moment my whole family has moved to Dhaka, Alhamdulillah. I have younger siblings who are all studying; I work as an English instructor and teacher.

I recently finished my bachelors in English Literature. I had a huge gap in school as I was working and didn't want to study in mixed environments. I went back and finished as I felt not having a degree often created a barrier for me from achieving things that I wanted to.

From my personal experiences, I prefer marrying someone who has grown up in the West and would like to move to a Muslim country. I feel I can relate more to those who have grown up abroad opposed to in BD.

There is so much to tell but I prefer to go into details about myself upon further talks, once there is something to build on inshaAllaah.

May Allaah grant us all righteous spouses who will be best for our Deen, dunya and Akhirah, Aameen.

What I Am Looking For
Rasul Allaah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) told us that marriage is half our Deen, so but natural I feel that the person I marry should help me fulfill the other half of my Deen. It is then upon me to fear Allaah regarding the other half, bi Idhnillah.

The person I would like to marry should have the following:

1) Sound Aqeedah [correct understanding of Tawheed, Shirk, Bida'h, etc]

2) Concerned with the affairs of the Muslimeen as unity is a part of our Deen; up to date with current affairs.

3) Known to have good Akhlaaq amongst the community or within the family members (I would prefer someone soft in nature as I am known to be a bit on the loud side)

4) Self-sufficient in terms of financial ability; not dependent on parents for finances.

5) Sincere desire for knowledge and its IMPLEMENTATION

6) Should be trying to memorize the Quran, whenever possible. What is important is having a good relationship with the Qurran.

7) Should be an active Daee

8) On the same page in terms of our understanding of the Deen

9) Knowledge of the Arabic Language would be a definite plus

I am looking for a person who has leadership qualities in him as I feel the man is the leader of the family. It is the mother's job to lead her children but the father's job to make sure the mother is on top of it. I would like for the person to be on the same page in terms of Deen and have a good understanding of my situation. Someone with a similar background to mine would be great and Allaah Knows Best what would suit me best.
