A Little Bit About Me
Salaam.

I am a born and bred Yorkshire lass who enjoys good food and great company. I am a very independent person but at the same time, I love spending time with my family and friends, and they are what I value most in the world.

I strongly believe in pluralism and egalitarianism so would be open to marrying someone of any background as long as they imbue the qualities which I am seeking.

In regards to faith, it is central to my life but I don't feel that symbolic gestures make me a good Muslim but striving to be a good person does. I don't wear hijab but I am modest in my clothing, actions and speech.

I believe in taking a logical approach to the study of the Qur'an and do not accept religious authority in the form of Imams, Sheikhs, etc. Although, I feel that some hadiths portray very positive messages, I do not accept them as a source of theological authority. I do not identify as being "Sunni", however, for me, however you decide to label yourself is not an issue as long as you believe in the Creator and constantly try your best to be a good human being.

I am seeking my imperfect half who is kind and none judgmental and accepts that we are all fallible human beings. Someone gracious enough to compromise and to apologise as well as to accept apologies. A man who reflects on his actions and strives to become a better version of himself. You can expect all this and more from me too, insha'Allah.
