A Little Bit About Me
Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim. I'm a modern American revert Muslimah dedicated to Allah, my family & my wonderful eleven year old son. Dear friends and “personality studies” say I am compassionate, intelligent, intuitive, optimistic, outgoing, faith-full, graceful, friendly, appreciative, respectful, supportive, feminine, communicative, always SMILING, et tres belle :)
I was born in Washington, DC, USA to American parents, and still live in the suburbs near DC. I reverted to Islam in 2003, alhamdulillah. Serving Allah (swt) and helping do good towards His creation is a key focus in my life. I believe spirituality, depth of connection our Almighty Creator, understanding, dedicated worship, and practical application of Islam in all aspects of life and good character are a necessity for any sincerely devout believer. I strive each day to seek and apply more knowledge of this beautiful deen for the sake of Allah. My nurturing and gentle nature is well suited to my profession as a bachelor’s degree prepared Registered Nurse. Alhamdulillah, I enjoy learning new things each day, in diverse subjects including Islam, languages, cultures, and academic knowledge. I steadily volunteer for and attend many Islamic lectures and classes to increase my knowledge and help others gain knowledge as well. I also enjoy volunteering for projects focusing on humanitarian aid, human rights advocacy, dawah, new Muslim support, interfaith dialogue, community improvement, as well as health and education promotion.
As a divorced mother of a wonderful 13 year old son, alhamdulillah I have spent a great deal of time contemplating the type of life I seek with my future husband and our growing family, in shaa Allah. The best marriages and families are centered upon strong faith in Allah (swt) and following the guidance of his Qur’an & Sunnah. I believe a happy marriage will also uphold gender equity, rather than equality. In the sacred partnership of marriage, both spouses hold different strengths to be valued, appreciated and encouraged in order to strengthen the relationship and build love, romance and a lasting connection and spark between spouses. I’m enthusiastic to fill my natural role as a patient, attentive & supportive, and very affectionate wife & mother. I will respect my husband, as he does me, and always uphold his honor. I promise to be my husband's best friend, confidant, source for comfort, and inspiration in this life and the hereafter, in shaa Allah. I promise to always be honest and considerate, listen to and value his thoughts, feelings and requests and share to my thoughts and feelings openly so that our union will flourish with peace, mutual understanding, positivity and tranquility in this life, and the hereafter, in shaa Allah.
I enjoy dancing, hiking, yoga, pilates, and other activities for fitness and fun. I love meeting new people, deep conversations, learning about other cultures, cooking, traveling, camping, and exploring the beauty Allah has created. I strive to learn something new every day, am a serious linguaphile, and I absolutely love a challenge, chocolate, and making others smile!
I believe a couple can solve most problems and grow closer by simply and maturely listening to one another and respectfully discussing their ideas. Communication is the key to a strong relationship. It is important to study the Quran and Sunnah and most answers to our questions can be found here when applied with logic to the world we live in now. I will never go to bed angry and expect my future husband to also work hard at a relationship where this can be the rule. I hope insh'Allah, to find a husband to treat me as his queen, he will be my king.

What I Am Looking For
My future husband should be a true Gentleman who will respect me as a unique individual. He must be honest, caring, affectionate, ambitious, hard working, intelligent, outgoing, open minded, and communicate his thoughts and feelings well.
If you would like have a relationship with me, you must also be kind and a good role model for my son. My soul mate must see me as the most important person in his world (besides his own children if applicable), and treat me as such. If I choose a husband, he would be that and more, my king, my best friend, to share my heart, mind, soul and eternity with. In shaa Allah I would like to marry a righteous, sincere, & positive brother with similar traits & a personality compatible to my own. I pray that he will have spent several years living in the “Western World” and currently live and maintain legal working status or citizenship in the West. It is also vital that he be fully fluent in English so that we will have more understanding of each other’s life experiences, in shaa Allah.
My future husband should be fully prepared to establish and value a secure & tranquil traditional marriage, based on the guidance of the Qur’an & Sunnah. He must be committed to place Allah first, and then to living and growing in his deen just as I am. He should be devoted to instilling those values in our children as well, in shaa Allah. He should be pleased to fulfill his duties and be a strong leader, protector, teacher, provider & role model for our family. He must be able to provide a comfortable home and halal income for the family and be able to maintain permanent, legal residence in a “Western” nation while raising our children. Daily time should be devoted specifically to communicate and build understanding and a strong union between spouses. In shaa Allah we will all be blessed with our true match to challenge and strengthen each other, and help each other become the best people, spouses, parents, and servants of Allah we can be, in shaa Allah.
