The Essence of Man is a multifaceted function - spanning theological, spiritual and moral dimensions.

Key characteristics of "The Essence of Man" include:

• Theological: Man is a creation of Allah (SWT) and is gifted a soul by The Creator which forms "The Essence". This involves connecting the inner-self with God's purpose, by recognising "The Essence" as a deeper, spiritual reality.

• Spiritual: This "Essence" is a conscious, inner soul, which uses the mind, heart and body as tools to serve The Creator. It is this state of "being-ness"which enables thought, awareness and choice.

• Moral: This Essence is characterised by it's intellectual capacity, moral responsibility, and ability to act as agents for a Divine purpose. It is the combination of being a conscious spiritual entity, and possessing free will to choose between good and evil.

• Gendered Perspective: This "Essence" is neither a masculine nor a feminine entity, but rather a state of human existence to celebrate the Oneness of God.
