A Little Bit About Me
Thanks for clicking on my profile.
I would describe myself as someone with good morals, sensible, traditional, and approachable.
I currently work as a full time optometrist (optician). My job involves helping people with their vision by giving them glasses or contact lenses. My job also involves making sure the eyes of patients are healthy and looking out for general health problems. I am also involved in supervising trainee optometrists. It is daytime work and does not involve working nights, which allows me to have a good balance between work and home. I would want to work after marriage. You are probably thinking: what will happen with work after having kids? Well, I would take maternity time off then just work part time when raising young children.
I have one sibling only, a younger brother. My father passed away in December 2017. My father was Sylheti and my mum is Indian Bengali.
On my days off, I like spending quality time with my family. My interests include cooking, watching movies and reading. I like trying out new recipes and I read a range of fiction and books about Islam. I try to keep fit by exercising at home with my exercise bike. I do watch a bit of TV after work, and I like watching online lectures about Islam. I also enjoy going on holidays with my family.
My ethnicity is Bengali, but I have been brought up speaking English with family. Even though I can understand Bengali when it is spoken to me, I cannot reply back in Bengali. I struggle to form a sentence in Bengali.
I am currently trying to improve my deen. I currently pray 5 times a day and fast in Ramadan. I do not wear a headscarf normally except for family gatherings, religious events and prayers. However, I do dress modestly.
What I Am Looking For
I am looking for my best life partner InshaAllah. I pray that my prospective husband is a gentle, sincere person and is loving and supportive, and someone I can feel comfortable with and vice versa.
In practical terms I am looking for a man between the ages of 28 and 35 of an educated background, who has an interest in Islam. I hope to find someone that I can grow in Islam and as a person with. I am looking for an individual who has not been married before and has no history of physical/haram relationships. I am looking for a non smoker, (that includes not smoking shisha)/ non drinker. I am looking for UK citizens only.
I am willing to consider relocation to another place in the UK after marriage. I do not mind living with in-laws, provided there is enough room. I will live where my husband wishes to live, be it with in-laws or in his own place.
If you like my profile and I like yours, the next step would be meeting up in a halal way. My family are fully aware that I am using this site. I think only by meeting up, can we find out if our personalities complement each other and establish if we would like to take things forward. I would like to get married as soon possible after finding the right person, but when that is is the will of Allah. I am not interested in anyone interested in casual dating for many months or someone not ready to get married soon after establishing compatibility. Family involvement of both parties is important to me. I pray InshaAllah that I will find my husband soon. I would like to know what my prospective husband's family thinks about me, as they will be my future in-laws if things go forward.
Thanks for reading my profile and do not hesitate to get in touch if you like what you have just read. I will leave you with this beautiful dua from the Holy Quran "Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhuriyyatina qurrata A'yunin waj'alna lil-muttaqina imama." "Our Lord! Grant unto us spouses and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous"(25:74)
