A Little Bit About Me
A Muslim of ahlus Sunnah, striving to learn and implement Islam, with the understanding of the salaf as saalih. I am not affiliated with any sect, group, or madhab; I am merely focused on following the pure Sunnah of the Messenger (saw). Some of the ulema and duat whom I prefer to listen to or take knowledge from are Shaykh ibn al Uthaymeen (rh), Shaykh bin Baaz (rh), Muhammad ibn Muneer, Shaykh Abdurrazzaq al Badr, Ahmad Musa Jibril, and Anwar al Awlaki.
Practice-wise, alhamdulillah I pray all my salah. I refrain from listening to music. I also grow a beard according to the Sunnah and try to keep my pants above the ankle. I don't say this to come off as some holy man--as I'm far from that--but rather to let any sisters know that I do fall more on the "conservative" side of the spectrum.
Currently I'm trying to learn Arabic so that I can understand the Quran and study Arabic texts. I'm also (slowly) memorizing the Quran al-Kareem.
I have a bachelor's in Computer Science and work as a software engineer. Besides Islam, I'm very interested in fitness, technology, cars, reading and writing. If I'm not studying, I'm usually spending time at the gym, the masjid, or with friends somewhere.
I'm a pretty laid-back and calm guy. I would say I'm intelligent and have a unique sense of humor as well, when I'm in the mood for it. I'm also a fairly independent and self-directed person.
What I Am Looking For
I'm looking for someone who cares deeply about practicing Islam properly. Someone who follows the kitab and Sunnah and the aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah. Not necessarily looking for a shaykhah or an alimah; just someone trying their best and putting in effort.
The content of your character is also important to me. I expect a certain level of hayaa in both dress and speech. Hijab is of course a must. Niqab is a beautiful bonus.
After that it's just a matter of talking and seeing where it goes.
