A Little Bit About Me
Within the parameters of this section, it is always a somewhat formidable task to capture the essence of one's character and also the essence of the man I seek. Indeed, I am always awed by those users who strike that fine middle ground between too self-effacing and too conceited. In following the lead of such users, I will attempt to do the same.
I should perhaps begin with a succinct biography of myself, beginning with my family and background. I come from a very loving family who gave me strong foundations. To this end, I have always felt intellectually, physically and mentally nourished. Growing up in such a household too, has meant I have always had the privilege to see a functional marriage up close and all of the mechanisms which make family life work. It is something I hope to replicate in my own family life.
As well as my close ties with my own family, I have many passions of my own. Literature, in all of its guises, being chief among them. I read books in the same way I breathe air: greedily, obsessively, voraciously. My other great passion is teaching. I sincerely feel that I have the greatest job in the world and there is no greater honour than shaping the minds and lives of our future generation. Teaching, learning literature and the pursuit of knowledge are hugely important aspects of my life.
I have other interests and hobbies too. For example, I am an avid writer of stories, poems and even non-fiction. I also love to travel, both domestically and internationally. I also take a keen interest in history and politics. In general, I am curious about the world around me and love exploring new places, cultures and peoples. My idea of a perfect day is starting off by reading a hefty novel, then going to a museum or the theatre before having a picnic in the park.
Finally, a few words on my character. We tend to overestimate ourselves and to ensure some kind of validity, I collated responses from friends and family. They tended to describe me as passionate, warm, ambitious, emotionally mature and hugely compassionate. Perhaps my favourite was one friend simply texting me back with the word 'ethereal'. She knew it would warm my English teacher heart!
In addition to the single word appraisals of my friends and family, I would also like to add that I am a huge romantic and also very idealistic. Looking to the future, I will always strive to make our home a haven. A place where laughter always rings out and there is compromise, goodwill and understanding.

What I Am Looking For
I am looking for someone with a similar disposition and temperament to my own: someone warm, romantic, compassionate and driven. If you feel that you possess emotional intelligence, a curiosity about the world and a zeal for adventure, you might just be my soul mate. With my future spouse, I hope that we can live a life of fulfilment, happiness and servitude towards Allah.
It is my belief that life's pleasures can be found in the little things and magic is all around us. With my future husband, I hope to enjoy the quotidian: eating ice cream at a local park, watching ethereal sunsets and midnight conversations.
