A Little Bit About Me
Having graduated from uni with a degree in literature, I’ve been working in construction as a health and safety adviser since I left but have decided to go back to uni (had been thinking of teaching but I’ve decided to go back to uni to study psychology). The long hours were just ridiculous and I was always travelling around London which was a killer 😰 Also, the constant racial abuse in the workplace was a put off lol. Apparently gorey don’t like see young Muslim women in positions of authority 🤷🏽‍♀️

I love reading, given it’s what I did at uni, but in my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my younger brother. I am very family orientated (my mum and I take my brother everywhere-bowling, the theatre, the cinema, museums, days out to London, rock climbing) so I would expect to find someone with the same values. I love travelling too, I love art and culture and there are so many places I’d love to see. My mum was born in Yorkshire but is Pakistani in origin and my dad is from India but originally Pushtun.

I do try to pray but this can be difficult when you work 9-5 in London and then come home and have all the cooking and cleaning to do as well as taking my brother to all his after school clubs but I am always trying to improve Inshallah. I fast every Ramadan though and always give zakah.

I am only here because I’m interested in marriage, not dating! I only ever wanted to get married once and it last a lifetime because I’ve always seen marriage and love as something sacred in itself but I’m not up for dating as my family are fairly conservative and so are some of my values. Also, I only joined this very recently and I’m already getting the ‘where have you been in my Duaas’ messages. Please, Astaghfarullah, don’t send them 😂 I’d like to think I conduct myself modestly and I won’t engage in any conversations that start off like that.

My life outside of work revolves around spending time with family or going to the gym. Other than that I volunteer with my local church helping with events and at my local Islamic community centre, teaching children the Quran. I also tutor kids in English for SATs and GCSEs.
