A Little Bit About Me
I am a practising Muslimah. I observe my five daily prayers on time. I give zakah. I fast during Ramadhwan. I have also gone for hajj, alhamdullilah. I am an obedient daughter. I live with and take care of both my parents. I am a third born and the first girl in a family of three sons and two daughters. I love my work. Presently, I am researching on the intersection between Shari'ah and conventional law. I have made amazing discoveries and I would love to specialise in this area of law. I occasionally go to court to prosecute public interest cases. Presently, I am teaming up with some other volunteer Muslim lawyers to litigate the rights of Muslim students to observe their religion (including wearing hijab, offering swalah, and fasting during Ramadhwan) in the Kenyan schools. Whenever I am available, I also volunteer to give free legal advice or participate in other community activities such as school management committees and Muslim NGOs Board. I spend my free-time attending or listening to Islamic talks, meeting up with friends, journaling or hanging out with my nieces and nephews. I am pretty organised and responsible. I thus often plan my engagements. I am well educated, alhamdullilah. I still get mesmerised with information and therefore avail myself to any information that I find interesting and useful. I love children and I give them space to express themselves. My nieces and nephews are therefore very fond of me. They must come to my room and find something to play with or keep them busy with whenever they visit. I also listen to them and create time for them despite my tight schedule. I am sportif and exercise about 4 times a week. My work also entails a lot of reading and thinking. This requires me to be fresh much of the time. I eat healthy too. I love languages and gardening. I have working knowledge of French. I plan to improve my Arabic in shaa Allah after I complete my present research. I also plan to do agri-business in future.
What I Am Looking For
A brother who practices Islam. One who observes the five daily prayers on time and, if practical, in the masjid. One who also gives zakah or is willing to provided that he qualifies to do it. I am looking for a friend, a person I can share with my successes, dreams, sadness and fears. A brother who is also respectful would intrigue me. Perhaps, one who loves to traverse the world. I would love to travel with him and witness the Majesty of Allah. Being sportif, having a sense of humour, and loving healthy foods would be a plus. These characteristics would make me very comfortable around him. Smoking and drinking, however, unsettle me. The brother should have at least a Bachelor’s degree; and aged between 37 and 53.
