A Little Bit About Me
I am an INTP 'Logician' type personality according to this pretty scientific version of the Myers-Briggs test called 16personalities (just Google it)
I work as a Cloud Automation Engineer and Developer for a Cloud Services company in Midtown Manhattan as my fulltime job.
For the lack of a better way to describe myself, I am just plain geeky, nerdy.
I love science, math, data, biases, policy, methodologies and tech. I love them enough that they will enter practically any conversation or topic I engage in.
I THINK, I am pretty religious, based on how much I think about religious topics/teachings/interpretation and even some nitty-gritty details like methodologies, authenticity and source line.
Politically, I lean center left with a bit of feminism and progressivism (mainly held back by how many of the solutions and ideas proposed tend to be more counterproductive to the problem they seek to solve when assessed more technically).
I am the type of person who you will find just researching or learning random things for fun, or doing experiments (coding or otherwise) for fun. I am also the sort of person who likes games, comics, anime, novels, tabletop games, and DnD.
I care a lot about family, friends, and self and try to keep a balance between those relationships and their time.
I believe myself to be decent, modest and down to earth; someone who values working together and compromises where it matters. Someone who knows that there is no perfect person, no perfect relationship; therefore forgiveness, pragmatism, and apologizing are crucial aspects of being in a healthy relationship.
I care about healthy relationships, and in that sense, I find the practical components that keep relationships healthy and ongoing to be very very important. I prefer to straighten and figure these things out beforehand, even before engagement, rather than getting married and find out certain practical incompatibilities are gonna break or seriously hurt the relationship.
What I Am Looking For
A person who will join me in my journey to be a better Muslim and human being.
A person who cares for family and friends in balance.
A person who does not see my nerdy and geeky side as a negative.
A person who does not see my religious side as a negative.
A person who is independent-minded.
A person who holds pride in having, maintaining and growing their intellect.
A person who is decent, modest and down to earth, someone who values working together and compromises where it matters. Someone who knows that there is no perfect person, no perfect relationship; therefore forgiveness, pragmatism, and apologizing are crucial aspects of being in a healthy relationship, (yes, this is copied from up above, but this part is critical)
A person who practices at least a bit of financial moderation and responsibility. (Enjoy what you must, hobbies and luxuries, your money is your own, but I don't want to deal with debt or near debt scenarios.)
Someone who is willing and open to talking about the practical and logistical bits regarding marriage, BEFORE engagement. (It's always important to sort out these things before)
Someone who is a bit career oriented.
Someone mainly from around the NYC area, or at least someone who will not have trouble finding work in their specific field/career without losing much time after moving (I like my current company and NYC tech scene a lot to move elsewhere).
