Islamic Education/ information: Have memorized a substantial portion of the Quran. Know 5 juz with meaning as my Quranic Arabic has picked up, and Alhamdulillah, I’m able to understand at least 70/80% of what the Imam is reciting. I pray the prayers, all of them and pay the zakat. Have made Umrah. Intending Hajj whilst I’m young. Currently about to learn the 3 principles with exp of Sh Ubaid Al Jabiree. Then it will be Sharh As Sunnah. In shaa Allah. Learning Arabic primarily from the Quran, because it’s strengthening my revision of it , have a teacher to teach me Madinah Arabic also.
Qualification/job: Previous aircraft load engineer, operations dispatcher and auditor at Birmingham airport. Qualified online and in person English teacher with a CELTA( can make Hijrah with it one day Inshaa Allah). Now doing a PGCE training year at a school in Solihull, teaching Maths to get a QTS( for higher salaries abroad).
Masaajid I attend: Wright Street for conferences. GLM only for Qiyaam in Ramadan, I do NOT take knowledge from there. Aston Masjid An Nabawiyah is my next target on my days off, plan is to go there as it’s closer to my house now.
Scholars I take from/ listen to: Sh Bin Baaz, Sh Uthaymeen, Sh Albani, Sh Fawzan, Sh Abdur Razzaq Badr, Shaikh Rabee, Sh Ubaid Al Jabiree.
Students of knowledge I take from/ listen to: Abu Khadeejah, Shamsi, Hassan Somali, Bilal Hakeem Davis and my Uncle in Saudi ( who taught me the Aqeedah of Al Bukhari (and some works of Imam As Saabooni).
About me: I’m the youngest of 4, my 2 elder sisters are married. Elder one has moved out. Second eldest sister is living with me currently saving up for her house, she should be going in 6-9 months. My 3rd sister is unmarried. So my house will just be me, my sister and my mum in the near future. In shaa Allah. I do have a view that I want to live separately for my own personal space, as I’ve lived myself for 5 years in rented accommodation and liked the peace as I was able to seriously study and get an intense degree done. I’m a family orientated individual, who can deal with scenarios. Since I was young, I have been mature and have been forced to be mature given the situations I was in. My father suffered a lot of illness, and I had to play a big part, very young, very quickly. My mum also had periods where she suffered, the same applied there. Alhamdulillah, my mother is much better. My father was in pain and he passed away 9 years ago, but he was ill for almost 36 years, so I never saw him at his true potential you could say, nevertheless he put me into the Tahfidh. I was able to lead throughout these times. So emotionally, I’m very mature. I do want everyone to be well, and that includes yourself and your family. My family looks to me to lead, and I like to, consulting where I can.
What I envisage in my spouse: Someone who has some kind of life experience alongside their education in the deen. Someone who can bring an experienced, calm and logical mindset, someone who has no desire for arguments, just keen to calmly problem solve their way out of a situation. Someone who can travel with me to make Hijrah. Someone who can understand that if we look after our families together, that we will benefit from that. Someone who is grounded within themselves, someone who smiles. Someone who, when faced with an issue, no matter how big, remembers that Allah will aid, and does not get flustered.
Willing to relocate: Yes, I want to make Hijra to ensure my deen comes first. But this depends on your long term outlook as well. We’d need to discuss this as with everything else.
Any questions, do ask.
Wa alaykum salaam to you.
