The latest poll by SingleMuslim.com asked members whether it is important to them to marry someone with the same first language.
Just over 40 per cent responded that it would depend on the person and their compatibility. Having the same first language is very important to 32 per cent of members, although women accounted for 60 per cent of this category.
Supporting these findings is the fact that of the 27.5 per cent overall who stated that language was not a consideration in their search for a marriage partner, 57 per cent were men. Only 22 per cent of all female respondents did not consider a spouse’s first language to be important; this compares with 32 per cent of the men.
